Mia Erlin: LIITO

Lightart work to create a meeting point in the Leppävaara underpassage.

LIITO is a dynamic light artwork. It represents the cultural diversity and vast greenery of Leppävaara, which is very characteristic to the area. The work gathers together people passing by from three different directions creating a meeting point. LIITO is located in a tunnel below a natural light window and its airy structure supports the pleasant environment for pedestrians and cyclists. Lighting effect is produced using laminated glass elements, perforated aluminium, and individual LED light sources. That creates a visually diverse mix of reflections, movement, and colours like that of Leppävaara culture. Programming is done using both video material and coding.

Which kind of light sources and what other materials and equipment are used?
Coloured Glass, steel, pixel programmed led spots and led strips.
