Loisto is inspired by navigation at sea with the help of beacons and lighthouses. The work consists of modified outdoor luminaires with integrated glass lenses that project different light patterns onto the facades. The artwork guides passers-by in the residential area of Aleksanterinkaari's inner circle at dusk and dark by marking the entrances of different buildings. Each building has its own pattern to help navigate the area.
Which kind of light sources and what other materials and equipment are used?
