Ilkka Paloniemi: Space Scanning

A laser-based work, which reveals histories and stories of spaces.

Space Scanning outlines the contours of space by red and green lasers, which chase each other like in a horological marathon. The work creates a clockwork-like sound, revealing the histories and stories of the space. 

Light sources, materials, and equipment:  
Lasers, electrical motor.

Dimensions of the work, approximately (width-height-depth): 
Height 1000 mm, width 300 mm, depth 300 mm.

Electricity consumption:
Standard mains current (10A/16A).

Does the artwork use sound?
Ambient sound.

The work includes all the necessary structures.

Very dark and silent, preferable space with history and stories.
