Antti Tolvi: Blue

A light composition experienced from a low-frequency sofa.

In this piece, the audience sits comfortably on a low-frequency sofa and observes a light composition projected onto the wall. The light composition operates with lights, colours, sounds, and patterns formed into water with sound.

The work has one cycle which is divided into three parts. The parts are abstract studies off the cycle of light: the coming of light, the presence of light, and the disappearance of light.

A very similar lightness and momentariness can be felt in both light and sound. It may be perceived, but it is something intangible that cannot be touched or held. It is something to be experienced in time and it is only present for that unique moment. Naturally, these facts ultimately apply to everything that the universe contains.
