Johanna-Josefina Alanko: Were time ends

Led-Light and Ceramics, 2021

Where Time Ends - What will happen to us and where will we go?

The work Where time ends (Mihin kaikki päättyy) was inspired by the theme of FLASH3- Light and death biennale in 2021. Each piece has its own rhythm to shine and to extinguish - the starts are symbols of time after death, astrology and all the wishes people has told to the stars for a centuries. The underlying idea of this work of art is to raise thoughts about life after death and the end of time. The work consists 3-9 large stoneware ceramic stars - inspired by the real stars in the space. The amount of stars can be different depending the location.
