Tero Jartti: Kylmä Nuotio / Cold Bonfire (model 1. Hospital)

Fun and interactive playground of shadow images, 2021

Video fireplaces and artificial aquariums, those omens of transition from real into fake, from living into dead, more controlled and cheaper, provide a frightened view on the "Cold Bonfire". When the viewer steps in front of the Cold Bonfire and draws up a parallel reality by one's shadow, it gives a sense of the age-old continuum of tribal fires. Same time it creates a playground of shadow images. The artwork consists of a bonfire apparatus that creates an illusion of the shadow of fire.
