The artwork is a performance where the artist uses painting liquid to draw on a paper attached to a steel frame. A light behind the frame shines through the painted marks and gestures, slowly absorbing into the paper. The stretched paper becomes a separating surface between the performer and the light source as the artist lets more light through the paper by drawing on it. It is almost as if the light is materializing in the drawing painted. Duration: 30–60min.
Anu Raatikainen is an artist who frequently uses light in her artwork, both as material, a subject, and a metaphor.
